The “Holebifoon” changes its name into “LUMI”.

The telephone line from Cavaria gives a shelter and is an information point for the LGBTI Community. From now on it is called “Lumi”, because the old name was more known for the LGB Community and didn’t cover all the other Capitals in our community. The target audience is much more than only gays, lesbians and bisexuals and next to the telephone line “Lumi” offers also chatting, mail and a more expanded website.

They were looking for a name that invites you for a conversation, that sounds like a good old friend and shows confidence. An extension of the name into holebi-transgender-asexual-queer-pansexual-intersex-plus-phone would go too far and that’s why it just became “LUMI”.

Lumi is there for everybody who have questions about gender and sexual preference. Cavaria spokesman Jeroen Borghs ensures “that all the gays, lesbians and bisexuals still can find their place at “Lumi”, but also transgenders and their environment can tell their stories or ask all their questions. Same for people who identify themselves as queer, non-binair, genderfluid or A-sexual or for people who wants to go through life without getting put a label on them”.

What if beautiful Twins Cedric Feito and Aline D Feito from PAINT used the most absurd news, like saying that the “Manneken Pis” is GAY, to find out how Belgians really feel about homosexuality?

interviews all over Europe to find out what people think of LGBT+ people and topics. This time they covered Brussels in Belgium and talk about the iconic boy pissing on the street called “Manneken Pis” to see how Belgians feel about the LGBTI Community.

But these Feito Twins believe story-telling is the perfect way to give visibility to any given cause. So they are proud and excited to introduce PAINT: a unique mini-series that gives a platform for LGBT+ people to share their stories and experiences. They hope to communicate a message of love, respect, and empathy, and show that we should be united in diversity. Over the past year, they’ve been fortunate to travel and meet with LGBT+ people from all over Europe, and have yet to interview many more. Because every story is unique, and every story matters. This is how they started and introduce themselves.

Alyson Stoner, an actress, singer and dancer who was the host of the Disney Channel’s Mike’s Super Short Show, and co-starred in “Cheaper By The Dozen” and the “Step Up” series, has come out as bisexual in a Teen Vogue essay. Alyson Stoner wanted to be as honest with her fans as possible, and so she couldn’t hide this from them.

Stoner described the journey to her realization after falling in love with a woman at a dance workshop.

She says:

I, Alyson, am attracted to men, women, and people who identify in other ways. I can love people of every gender identity and expression. It is the soul that captivates me. It is the love we can build and the goodness we can contribute to the world by supporting each other’s best journeys. For all the challenges I’ve faced in my path to self-acceptance, I’ve also traveled it with my own set of luck and privilege. I’ve learned a novel’s worth already, and I’ve shed several layers of prejudice and closed-mindedness. I now understand why it serves no good to use shame and fear to control and suppress people. I now know what it’s like to have groups of people force you into silence and cut you off from a community and opportunities. I’ve sat alone in many crowds, beaten myself up, and questioned whether life was worth living. I don’t wish these dark moments on anyone, but I know it’s happening everywhere.

Tomorrow the 1st of December marks World AIDS Day, which means the last weeks brought an influx of RED ribbons and articles commemorating those who died at the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis.

Understanding the devastating impact AIDS had on LGBTQ communities in the 1980s is crucial, but there is a tendency to talk about HIV as a thing of the past. It isn’t: around 36.9 million people worldwide were living with HIV/AIDS last year, and there were around 5,000 new infections every day, although mortality rates are thankfully much lower. Black, trans and gay male people are still disproportionately likely to contract the virus overall. And so HIV education for those vulnerable groups in particular is even more important. But the virus can affect anyone – a fact largely obscured by the homophobic panic of mainstream media, which used the AIDS epidemic to demonize gay men. As a result, HIV+ women in particular are all too often rendered invisible.

Sex education at school is still not what it is or very effective regarding the view about it all. So what if we can’t trust sex education or a supposedly faithful biopic like “Bohemian Rhapsody” of HIV+ icon Freddy Mercury of Queen to tackle the subject, what can we trust? The answer, perhaps surprisingly, is gay porn.

For starters, a handful of HIV+ porn stars have sex on-screen to demonstrate in extreme detail that treatment works. But in addition, performers like Jason Domino and Hans Berlin build initiatives like “The Good Porn Project”, which goes a step further by also tackling issues like transphobia and sexual racism.

Hans Berlin, who last year came out as HIV during a Grabby awards acceptance speech, puts it this way: “There are still some dumb people in the industry – and that shouldn’t be an insult. There are places in the world, even countries like the United States, which don’t have much sex education, so there are people who are still fearful of HIV+ performers.”

Hans Berlin is hard at work on a musical love story set in the world of gay porn, whereas Jason Domino is a renowned sexual health advocate consistently using his platform – and his experience – to fight stigma. “Education is so fear-led, and that scares people out of being tested,” Jason says. “Information and empowerment is so much more important and sex workers are doing the work, but sex worker activists don’t get invited to activism awards. We’re the first to disappear from the list. Companies are worried about funding and respectability, they think we inherently damage that. At the end of the day, it’s just discrimination.”

You can listen to your doctor, but that’s really clinical advice. Ultimately it’s about listening to them, because people are talking about sex work without listening to sex workers. And they can know!!!

Treatment has advanced astronomically over the last few decades with preventative drug PrEP, while ART (antiretroviral treatment) suppresses the viral load of HIV positive people on medication to ‘undetectable’ levels, meaning they can’t transmit the virus even through unprotected sex.

BUT you should always rubber up regardless, folks!!!

So remember the ones that lost their lives because of this horrible disease and protect yourself and partner(s) in the best way you can. Be educated and keep it SAFE

It is World Aids Day today and not only we take a moment to think at all the men and women who lost their lives to AIDS, but also remember you all to RUBBER UP!!!

What better way to do that with condoms and to remember the great iniative by the Tom of Finland Foundation who had teamed up with ONE Condoms to offer a special edition of rubbers featuring Touko Laaksonen’s iconic drawings in 2015.

Bruno Poczinek has achieved another milestone in his career. After winning the title of Mister Brazil 2017, he won again the Mister Grand International 2018 almost two weeks ago. Bruno was voted the most beautiful man in the universe, beating candidates from 20 other countries, winning the belt of the champion of the previous edition, the Brazilian William Herculano.

Bruno was featured throughout the competition, getting in the Top 7 in the Grand Final, then in the Top 3 at the end of the gala parade and went to the final stage alongside the Venezuelan and Chilean conquests, winning the dispute.

It is worth remembering that in December of this year he will be present at Mister Brasil 2018 to pass the track to his chosen successor.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race star and former Celebrity Big Brother winner will compete to represent have native country at next year’s show in Tel Aviv with uplifting new single ‘Fight For Love’.

Courtney, the drag alter ego of performer Shane Jenek, will fight to become the Australian entry during the country’s national selection TV show “Eurovision – Australia Decides” next February 2019.

In a statement, Courtney said: “A sweet 16 years after Australian Idol, I have the chance to show Australia how I have grown as an artist and performer and I am so excited! JOCK returns on the 18^th of January 2019 with a party designed for the JOCK beginner. We’re relaxing their dress code as a 1 off, so underwear and sportskit is encouraged, but not essential!!!
